Born on 27 April 2000 in Montreal, Josué Duverger keeps goal for FC Cosmos Koblenz in the German fifth tier — he will be the only player from such a modest level at the 2026 World Cup.

The night of Costa Rica

Seen as the third-choice keeper, he still left his mark on the campaign. With Johny Placide absent, he played the crucial Costa Rica–Haiti (3-3) with eight top-class saves, one of the finest outings by a Haitian goalkeeper on the road to the World Cup.

A former U17 and U20 international, he was among the second group of Grenadiers to land on American soil. His contribution — as rare as it was decisive — earned him a place in Sébastien Migné's squad.
